Return on investment from sustainability: 2023/24

We are today announcing the publication of our inaugural ESGI report, to accompany our renewed group vision, mission, and values.

Central to this report is an estimate of our Social Return on Investment (SROI) for 2023-24 of £112million. This equates to more than double the payment we receive as a business from the apprenticeship levy. We are committing to measuring this figure annually and including it in all ESGI and financial reporting to support accountability and to drive continuous improvement.

We believe in building a sustainable future for the businesses and industries we serve, and for the people and communities at the heart of them. As a leader in delivering high-quality apprenticeship programs, we recognise the profound impact we can have through our training delivery, whilst also prioritising care for the environment, giving back to our communities and being an industry-leading workplace. These improvements and commitments are underpinned by our robust governance structures, which you can read about in the report.

Our ESGI report reflects our commitment to creating value beyond the bottom line. By weaving these principles into our operations, program delivery and assessment and accreditation remit, we demonstrate that this strategy reflects who we are and what we stand for. 

This report is supported by a three-year ESGI roadmap which sets out how we will bring about change aligned to key transformation areas and will be led by a newly appointed Head of ESG, starting at Lifetime Group in Spring 2025.
